Kevin Henry Edouard, 21, of Nyack, New York died suddenly aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL) Epic on Sunday, August 14, 2010 after eating aboard NCL's newest ship.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that Edouard died as a result of an allergic reaction to food he ate aboard Epic. Norwegian Cruise Line classified the death of the young man as a heart attack.
The ship had just left the Port Of Miami on a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean, when Edouard became suddenly ill, reportedly after eating a cookie that contained peanuts. The ship turned around and headed back to port to disembark Edouard, after he has passed away. The voyage resumed shortly after 0200 hours.
He was the loving son of Huguette Allen and Fritzbert Edouard, and a devoted brother to his three siblings Michael Anthony Edouard, Whitney Rachel Edouard and Bianca Huguette Edouard.
He was a recent graduate of SUNY in Morrisville, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday August 21 at 0930 hours at Saint Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Nyack followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack. Arrangement were handled by Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack.
