May 12, 2005 - Carnival Cruise Lines Carnival (Destiny) Sunshine - Hue Pham & Hue Tran were on a one week cruise which began and ended in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

On May 12 cruise ship employee noted several items on Deck #3 Starboard side below #3 lifeboat; Items included 2 pair of flip-flops, 2 passports, drivers licenses, medication, and a man's wallet containing several hundred dollars in cash and credit cards.

All items turned over to Pursers desk. Names on the items belonged to passengers residing in Cabin #9191.

May 13, 2013

  • Purser desk contacted Cabin #9191 via telephone to report lost/left items.
  • Daughter of missing passengers arrived at Purser desk and verified items belonged to her father and mother.
  • Daughter returned to Purser desk and advised parents could not be located.
  • Purser office advised bridge. Ship security conducted patrols looking for missing passengers with negres.
  • Cruise ship personnel began conducting PA announcements in all open deck and public areas for 30 minutes to locate missing passengers, and began conducting PA announcements in all areas of the ship for 30 minutes to locate missing passengers.
  • C/S turned around from POSIT 12-54.6n; 067-41.2w to conduct water search; every available crewmember assisted in conducting a second search of ship for missing passengers and a search of the sea.
  • Missing passengers were last seen on 12 May at 2045 by the assistant cabin steward of room #9191.
  • Missing passengers last known transaction on board the vessel was a photograph taken on 11 May and paid for on the morning of 12 May.
  • C/S Has no video camera surviellance for Lifeboat areas.
  • Purser records indicate 5 individuals were residing in Cabin#9191 (Mother, Father, Daughter, Grand daughter, and family friend)

  • FBI boarded vessel and conducted investigation in St Maarten.
