Jill Begora, 59 – Suicide Overboard, Jewel Of The Seas Passenger, December 12, 2005, Time of Death is unknown.
Jill Begora, 59, from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada went missing on the last night of an eight night Caribbean Cruise Lines vacation aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Jewel Of The Seas, December 12, 2005.
Her husband Dennis Begora, formerly a dentist in St. Catharines, Ontario, last saw her at about 9 a.m. on Saturday.
He reported her missing around 1pm Saturday morning as the Royal Caribbean cruise line ship Jewel of the Seas pulled into Nassau, the Bahamas
They did a full ship search, and there was no evidence that she had left the ship in Nassau. The ship’s crew searched the vessel for Jill before filing a report with the Coast Guard on Saturday night
The ship pulled into Port Everglades on Sunday morning, and cruise passengers were questioned by Coast Guard officials. They later reported their findings to the FBI
A friend reported to mainstream media reporters that Jill had a life long battle with depression. However, it is presumed she fell overboard.
One passenger says, “I had no idea about what had happened until I watched the news in my hotel room in Florida Sunday night. I was SHOCKED….I had no idea because no one on the cruise ship told us what had happened. They say they did a full ship search…WHERE??? No one came knocking on my door.”
