Richard S. Mulloy III, 22 – Suicidal Behavior, Norwegian Majesty Passenger, June 19, 2007, Time of Death 12:25.
Richard S. Mulloy III, 22 was on board the Norwegian Majesty on June 19, 2007. The vessel left Boston, from Boston, Massachusetts on June 17 with about 20 members of his family. On Tuesday the ship arrived in Bermuda.
Mulloy, a risk inspector, had just returned to the ship after having drinks in St. George with his cousin, Bermuda police said. The two men were on their way to a seventh-floor disco event about 12:25am when Mulloy climbed onto the banister on the ship’s fifth floor and fell, police and cruise officials said.
When nurses arrived, Mulloy was unresponsive with a serious head wound, police said. He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Paget, where he died about 3:11 a.m., police said.
The police statement released this afternoon said: “Around 1.15 this morning, police received a report of a passenger falling onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Majesty docked at Ordinance Island in St. George’s.
Two nurses on board attended the scene and discovered the victim in an unresponsive state. They immediately gave him CPR and tended to a head wound sustained from the fall.
His mom, Doreen, and dad were in bed when one of their nephews woke them up and told them what had happened. “It’s still sinking in,” his dad said. His father said that his son was a “great kid” who loved being with his family.
