Cruise ship passenger William Blake Cannon I, 49, from Loranger, Mississippi was sailing aboard Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Fantasy with his wife Pamela Thompson Cannon when he passed away on September 1, 2008.

Mr. Cannon was in the casino area when he suffered a heart attack. The ship’s doctor and medical staff attended Cannon, though he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Mr. Cannon remained aboard until September 3, 2008 when Carnival Fantasy returned to Mobile, Alabama. He ws transported to the Medical Examiners office by Newman’s Ambulance Service # 120.

After speaking with Mr. Cannon’s family member, it was discovered that Cannon had no past history of heart problems and had visited the doctor two weeks prior to the incident and was given a clean bill of health, though he was taking medication for high blood pressure.

Medical Examiners Report stated Mr. Cannon died of natural causes.
