Cruise ship crew member Andre Caran was sailing aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Pearl when he passed away on September 2, 2009.
At around 1200 hours crew member Andre Caraan was reported missing from a scheduled weekly drill. Personnel were sent to his stateroom and found him dead in his cabin bed. Medical personnel were called to the room where the doctor tried for 30 minutes to revive Caraan with no success. Norwegian Pearl was moored in Skagway, Alaska at the time and the local police department conducted an investigation. Mr. Caraan’s remains were sent to Anchorage for an autopsy. The Medical examiner’s report indicated unspecified natural causes.
