Cruise ship passenger John Francis (Jack) Frey, 70, from Milton, Delaware was sailing aboard Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Triumph with his wife of 42 years, Louise, on Saturday, September 19, 2099 when he passed away.

Mr. Frey reported to the medical center on board complaining of diarrhea on September 18 and was admitted for observation. Shortly thereafter, the passenger passed away due to acute kidney failure.

Carnival Triumph was on a 7-night Canadian Maritimes cruise that visited Boston in Massachusetts, Portland in Maine, St. John in New Bruswick and Halifax in Nova Scotia from New York City, embarking and returning on Saturdays.

Mr. Frey was a Rockaway, New Jersery Township council member, where he had resided before moving to Milton, Delaware and had previously served as council president and vice-president.

He also served as an aide to state Senator Anthony Bucco. He was a member of American Legion post 344 of Rockaway Township, a member of the Rockaway Township Fire Department and a coach for Rockaway Township midget football for 18 years.
