Sarah Tessier Powell Passenger Cruise Ship Death Overboard Veendam

Sarah Tessier Powell, Passenger Missing Presumed Dead, Holland America Line Veendam – September 20, 2012, Time of Death Unknown.

Time of Cruise Ship Death

Sarah Tessier Powell, 70, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana was alone on a fall foliage, New England, Canadian Maritimes cruise aboard Holland America Line Veendam on September 20, 2012 when she went missing.

When Veendam returned to the U.S., Powell wasn’t aboard and she was reported missing. A search for the Canadian ports lead Canadian police to the belief, she simply walked off the cruise ship without anyone noticing. Post 911, we know it’s not impossible, but highly improbable.

Veendam docked in Charlottetown on October 2, Sydney on October 3 and Halifax on October 4 before returning back to the United States. In the next few years, Powell didn’t surface in Canada, nor the United States.

Since she required medication and on going medical treatment and hasn’t showed up anywhere to be medically treated or to fill a prescription, for a period of several years, the most likely scenario is Powell went overboard at sea.

Her body has not been found.
