Sir David Paradine Frost, 74, from Tenterden, Kent, England, had been contracted as a speaker aboard Cunard Line Queen Elizabeth on August 31, 2013 when he had a heart attack and passed away. Queen Elizabeth was sailing a ten-day cruise from Southampton to Rome at time.
Frost was British journalist known for interviews with some of the most noteworthy leaders around the world. The list included Benazir Bhutto, Bill Clinton, David Cameron, Edward Heath, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Gordon Brown, Harold Wilson, James Callaghan, Jimmy Carter, John Major, Margaret Thatcher, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Muammar Gaddafi, President Daniel Ortega, President Omar al-Bashir, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Tony Blairand Vladimir Putin.

On March 13, 2014, a service was held at Westminster Abbey, at which Frost was honoured with a memorial stone in Poets’ Corner.
