Stephen John Sachman, Cruise Passenger Death, Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Excursion Snorkeling Death September 16, 2015.
Stephen John Sachman, 56, from Long Island, New York, was sailing aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Breakaway when he died of natural causes during a cruise ship snorkeling excursion near Hawkins Island on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Norwegian Breakaway departed from New York City on Sunday September 13, 2015 for a 7-Day Bermuda, Round-trip New York cruise. The Norwegian Breakaway was docked in Bermuda on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before returning to New York.
As usual, regurgitated news reports by other “cruise news” websites got it wrong as they rushed to get an article out based on passenger rumors or flawed news report, without actually researching the case themselves.
The “news” stories by Cruise Fever, Cruise Minus, Cruise Junkie (who testified before U.S. Congress with his database of cruise events rumor mill “statistics”), Cruise Hive and Cruise Law News which is owned by a lawyer who sues the cruise lines all named the male passenger Stephen Sakman in their articles posted in September 2015.
This is the reason CruiseShipDeaths.com is the #1 source for information on deaths at sea. We are not always the first to report a case, but we are the best, largest and the most completely researched cruise ship deaths site.
