Bucket List Cruise Suicide – Rosanna Rossato, 75, From Cricoli, Italy was sailing aboard MSC Cruises MSC Opera on Saturday November 7, 2015 in the Ligurian Sea when she jumped overboard on the last night of the cruise. MSC Opera had arrived at Civitavecchia, Italy at 0900 hours and left at 1900 hours for Genoa, Italy.
Rossato was discovered missing when the cruise ship arrived at Genoa. The cruise ship was searched after Rossato was not found in her cabin. An investigation was launched into her disappearance and her family was contacted.
A daughter said she had received a text from her mother that night, which simply said, “forgiveness”. At home, it was discovered she had left three letters behind.
MSC Opera had embarked from Genoa, Italy on a 13-Day cruise with calls at Gibraltar, Gibraltar, Lanzarote, Spain, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, Funchal, Portugal, Malaga, Spain, Palma de Mallorca, Spain and Civitavecchia, Italy before returning to Genoa.
