Ben Buenaventura, Cruise Ship Crew Death, After Lifeboat Drill Accident Aboard Norwegian Breakaway, Time of Death Unknown.
Ben Buenaventura, from Malolos, Bulacan, Philippines, was a cruise ship waiter for Norwegian Cruise Line for ten years. Buenaventura died on August 30, 2016, after a lifeboat safety drill accident aboard Norwegian Breakaway while the cruise ship was docked in Bermuda on July 20, 2016.
Buenaventura had been transfered from the hospital in Bermuda to the intensive care unit of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He had fractures to both legs, hip, right arm, punctured lungs and traumatic brain injuries.

Buenaventura was married to fellow Norwegian Cruise Line crew member Geraldine Buenaventura since February 2011. Geraldine Buenaventura is a Norwegian Cruise Line Restaurant Hostess. The couple had a five-year-old son together.
Buenaventura was injured along with three other crew members. Fellow Crew member Diogenes Carpio also died when the lifeboat crashed into the sea.
