Carnival Ecstasy was about 15 miles off the coast of Grand Bahama island at the time Patel was reportedly seen jumping overboard from deck 11, according to a Carnival spokesperson.
At noon on Thursday the USCG reported, “We are still searching, a HC-144 Ocean Sentry Airplane crew from Air Station Miami and the Coast Guard Cutter Dolphin are currently on scene,”.
The search was suspended at 7:32 p.m. Thursday, the Coast Guard said.
Since Patel was allegedly on deck with “family” at 0230 hours in morning, this case is being treated as a possible suspicious death until the FBI investigates. This case is under investigation at Cruise Bruise and updates to the case page will be posted there.
