On March 1, 2018, Joanna Kiln, 66, from the United Kingdom died after suffering from pneumonia, diabetes and cardiac failure when she was medically disembarked from Cruise & Maritime Voyages cruise ship Magellen.
Kiln was brought ashore in a private tourist plane, she was alone with no family.
Kiln was left alone in Brazil where the national language is Portuguese, and she only spoke English which hindered her hospital care.
More on this case can be found on the Cruise Bruise Blog.
