Yvonne Aites, 62, of Northbridge Massachusetts was aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ship Norwegian Dawn Monday, June 4, 2018 in Bermuda when she took a jet ski excursion, fell into the water off Cambridge Beaches in Sandys and lost consciousness. The cause of death was ruled drowning.
A police spokesperson said, “At about 11:05am today [Monday] police and other first responders attended a report of an unresponsive female who fell off of a jetki whilst on a jetski tour in the area of Cambridge Beaches in Sandys.”
Yvonne spent most of her life as a caregiver not only to her family but to many others. She worked 23 years for the State of Massachusetts at the former Medfield and Westboro State Hospitals until retiring from Worcester State Hospital. During her retirement Yvonne worked part time at Walgreens in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, having breakfast every Sunday at her son Timothy’s house. She was the Matriarch of her family. Many remember her for her sense of humor however, when anyone needed something, she was always there.
