Egael Tishman Passenger Cruise Ship Zipline Death – On Thursday, July 5, 2018, Egael Tishman, 24, from Israel and his new bride Shif Fanken, 27, were on their honeymoon aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL) cruise ship Allure of the Seas in Roatan, Honduras for a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise.
The couple who were married on Saturday June 30, 2018 booked an $89 per person, 3 hour zip line excursion, which was promoted by RCCL as “Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour”.
Just before 1:30 pm Shif Fanken got stuck on the zip line amid the treetops, midway on the zip line. Egael Tishman came gliding down the zip line from behind, slamming into his bride. They were both injured during the collision. Two ambulances rushed to the site of the zip line, located in the French Harbor neighborhood.
Fanken was taken to a local hospital in serious condition and later flown to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she underwent surgery to stabilize her condition.
The newlywed couple suffered a number of serious injuries, including broken ribs. Both were still conscious when they arrived at the hospital. But soon after, Egael Tishman complained he could not breathe, suggesting he perhaps had one or more broken ribs which may have punctured this lungs. He was given oxygen, but died hours later.
