Laurent Mercer Harmony of the Seas Passenger Overboard Death – Laurent Mercer, 16, from French island Wallis and Futuna in the South Pacific, died on Friday, January 11, 2019, when he attempted to drop from a Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship Harmony of the Seas cabin balcony on deck 8 to his cabin on deck 7.
It was reported that Mercer was locked out of his cabin, after he did not have his cabin to get inside.
Mercer suffered “major head trauma” and died of his injuries when he landed on the pier in Labadee, Haiti.
Teacher Edwin Tahimili posted online, “A nice, helpful and sociable boy!! I share the pain of your parents, your brothers, your family and I don’t forget you in my prayers Laurent Happy Mercier, rest in peace”.
Harmony of the Seas was was docked in Labadee, Haiti, on a 7-night Easern Caribbean cruise, which embarked from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
