Silvio Gentile Carnival Cruise Line Director Heart Attack – Silvio Gentile, 39, from Pembroke Pines, Florida was Carnival Cruise Line Director Of Scheduling & Compliance and Carnival Cruise Lines Deck Manning Manager has passed away from a heart attack on July 3, 2019, in Miami, Florida.
With the sudden death of Silvio Gentile, Carnival lost a great professional and a visionary, but most of all an exceptional human who has impacted the lives of many onboard Carnival cruise ships.
Silvio was born in Napoli, Italy on February 21, 1980, and joined the Carnival family in 2002. He started his career with Carnival Cruise Line onboard the ships as a Deck Officer, eventually rising to the level of Safety Officer. He worked under many Captains who valued his dedication and thoughtfulness, as well as his sense of humor and his easy way of making everyone feel happy.
Gentile was an Experienced Manning Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the leisure, travel & tourism industry. Skilled in Operations Management, GMDSS, Hospitality Industry, Maritime Safety, and International Shipping. Strong operations professional with a Master Mariner focused in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from ITN F. Caracciolo. Mr. Gentile went to school from 1993, training as a Master Mariner in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
He moved shore side in April 2012 as Shipboard HR Manager and was promoted to his most recent position of Director, Scheduling and Compliance for Marine and Hotel in January 2018. In this position, he demonstrated the qualities of a great leader and was well respected by all who knew him. During this time he provided unique support and help to many people both shipboard and shore side.
Silvio leaves behind his wife Nathinee, and an 11-year-old daughter Gioia. Silvio was really proud of Gioia, of her studies results as one of the best in her school.
