Gaffar SatwilkarGaffar Satwilkar Carnival Victory Crew Accidental Overboard – On Thursday, July 4, 2019, Gaffar Satwilkar, 37, from Ratnagiri, India was a crew member who worked aboard Carnival Cruise Line ship Carnival Victory went overboard as the cruise ship was about 30 miles off the coast of Cuba returning to port in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the last leg of a four-day cruise.

Satwilkar was maintaining the balcony portion of the cruise ship on the port side of the ship when the accidental overboard took place.

Gaffar Satwilkar who is the father of three children lived in Miami, Florida.

Gaffar Satwilkar’s brother, Mohammed Satwilkar said, “We all are waiting for him,” said Mohammed. “We want him to come back as soon as possible.”

Andy Hernandez, a passenger sailing on Carnival Victory when Satwilkar went overboard posted several tweets saying “Never experienced anything like this. Man went overboard on Carnival Victory. Satwilkar fell according to other crew members while conducting maintenance on the back of the ship. My heart goes for this man and his family.”
