Davide Pignataro Second Engineer Officer Davide Pignataro Regal Princess Crew Death – On February 28, 2020, Princess Cruises’ Regal Princess Second Engineer Officer, Davide Pignataro, 29, from Castellammare, Itay, was found dead in his cabin aboard the cruise ship while the cruise ship was docked in Cozumel, Mexico.

On Friday, some colleagues realize that Davide Pignataro is not in his place, at work, and decide to go and check in his cabin. After trying unsuccessfully to call him, they decide to force the door. Once inside, they find David’s body lying on the ground, lifeless.

According to a first reconstruction, the 29-year-old would have suffered from a sudden illness, perhaps the victim of a cardiovascular arrest. But there are many circumstances yet to be clarified. Precisely for this reason, the Mexican authorities have opened an investigation. We will have to reconstruct the last hours of David’s life and understand if there was something that did not go to the rescue.

After graduating from the nautical institute of Piano di Sorrento, had followed his passion for the sea. And there, unfortunately, he found a death that left an unbridgeable void in those who loved him.

Regal Princess embarked from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on  Sunday, February 23, 2019, for a 7-night Caribbean cruise. Regal Princess called at Princess Cays, Bahamas, then Falmouth, Jamaica before calling at George Town, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel, Mexico before returning to Fort Lauderdale.
