Carnival Miracle Passenger, January 7, 2010

Cruise ship passenger Mark Carroll Miles, 29, from Chesapeake, Virginia was sailing aboard Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Miracleon January 7, 2010 when he passed away from what was described as "natural causes".
Mr. Miles was sailing with his parents and girlfriend Rebecca Elizabeth Durham.
Miles was a 1999 Honor Graduate of Great Bridge High School, and was currently pursuing a degree in building construction and civil engineering as a full time student in the College of Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic and State University in Blacksburg, Va.
Mr. Miles had suffered from Supraventicular Tachycardia (SVT) and had been previously on medication.
Carnival Miracle had just embarked from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at approximately 1600 hours on Thursday, January 7, 2010. The family was on a 8-night cruise which included calling at St. Maarten, St. Lucia and St. Kitts before heading back to Ft. Lauderdale.
While in route to the port of St. Marteen and while sitting in Maguire's Bar, a lounge aboard Carnival Miracle, Mr. Miles collapsed on the ground.
Medical staff attended Mr. Miles but were unsuccessful in reviving him.
